Emergency Shelter
Housing is one of the most basic staples in our culture, yet the demographics of thoseexperiencing homelessness show that individuals make up 72% of the homeless population, while families with children constitute about 28%. Racial disparities are also evident, with people who identify as Black or Latino being disproportionately represented among the homeless population(HUD) (National Low Income Housing Coalition)
Since 1996, Anita has been housing and finding housing for more that 7,000 people a year, most of those are youth and babies.

College & Trade School
Each year we help 3,700 students with clothing, education, programs and services, transportation, college fees and tuition, employment, and housing. We believe education is crucial for homeless children as it provides stability, routine, and a sense of normalcy amidst their uncertain circumstances. It also offers a pathway out of poverty, equipping them with essential skills and knowledge for future employment opportunities. Access to education can significantly improve their social, emotional, and academic development, helping break the cycle of homelessness. Educational support services tailored to their unique needs are vital to ensuring they can succeed despite the challenges they face (National Alliance to End Homelessness) (National Alliance to End Homelessness).

Mentor Me Atlanta, at its core, guarantees young people that there is someone who wants to direct them into a successful future. That wants to assure them they are not alone in dealing with day-to-day challenges and makes them feel like they matter.
Every year we encourage teenagers the opportunity to become a Mentee! Youth with a mentor are 78% more likely to finish school, 93% more likely to give back, and 58% more likely to attend college.
